Creative Expression

At Active Kids Academy, fostering the creativity of our students is the heart of our educational approach. We provide many opportunities and encouragement for them to express themselves through various forms of artistic expression throughout the school year.

 

Here's a glimpse of the avenues through which they can explore their creativity:

1. Music: Our music curriculum was thoughtfully developed in collaboration with our partner, Andrea Elzinga. From singing while washing hands to enjoying clean-up songs, we immerse our students in a world of notes and melodies. They will learn about melody, pitch, rhythm, and more, fostering a deep appreciation for the art of music.                                          

2. Arts and Crafts: Aligned with our monthly themes, we encourage students to engage in arts and crafts activities. These projects provide a fun and enriching way for our students to learn to create with their hands and minds. From crafting pirate hooks and wizard wands to designing superhero masks, each creation is a unique expression of their imagination.             

3. Drama and Acting: We recognize that every child has a story to tell, and it is our mission to empower them to share their tales. Encompassing our monthly themes, we endeavour on adventures with our students, igniting their imagination.

By embracing creativity through music, arts and crafts, and dramatic exploration, we aim to deliver a well-rounded educational experience that also provides a sense of joy and self-expression.
